The goal of ’Rethink Paranoia and Delusions’ is to develop a compilation of anonymous descriptive accounts of aspects of psychosis related to what generally gets labelled as 'delusions' and/or 'paranoia' in clinical services. Accounts, definitions and descriptions available are often dominated by professional/clinical perspectives and our goal is to compile a rich and diverse set of accounts that challenge over-simplification and reclaim lived experience.
In addition to questions about your experiences, we are asking participants to describe any strategies or techniques that they have found to be helpful in addressing any potential distressing or challenging aspects of these experiences.
Please note that this is NOT a research project. Instead, the narratives we gather will be compiled into booklets to be made available online and in early psychosis programs (and other service settings) across the US. A major aim of the project is to validate the diverse range of things people with psychosis experience, and help people, especially young adults experiencing psychosis for the first time, feel less alone and isolated (in these experiences). This project is co-led by Shannon Pagdon and Nev Jones, PhD (University of Pittsburgh). Thank you in advance for your participation and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions ([email protected] or [email protected]).
This project is still gathering narratives, if you would like to contribute please do so here:
